The Asian Chess Federation (ACF) was created in 1990. The members of ACF are the chess federation of Asia and Oceania. It establishes and coordinates the activity of its members and organizes the Asian championships under the auspices of FIDE. Mr. Khalifa Mohammed AL-HITMI was the ACF president between 1990 and 2006. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al-Nehyan has been elected president since 2006.
