Indonesia Chess Federation joint FIDE in 1969. The national team has participated in 20 Olympiads since 1960 (except 1962, 1964 and 1976) and collected 4 individual medals. Its best achievement was 19th made in 1986.
Indonesia lists 6 GMs leading by the former Asian Champion Utut Adianto and the young rising star Susanto Megaranto, 12 IMs and 50 titles players. The country has hosted the second Asian Individual championship in 1976, the 1993 Women Interzonal, few Zonals and the 1997 World Cities.
The last champion was: 2010 Susanto Megaranto.
