Islands in the English Channel, northwest of France. Guernsey, sometime associated with Jersey has participated in 18 Olympiads since 1970. Their best achievement was 59th in 1970. Gorden Comben is the only player member of the Guersey-Jersey team (at that time) to be awarded a gold medal for the best individual performance at board 6 at the 1984 Olympiad.
