A prestigious tournament often up to the category XXI is organised every year in Moscow since 2006 to commemorate the World Champion Mikhail Tal who died in 1992.
Grischuk, Aronian, Karjakin, Kramnik and Gelfand at the 2010 Tal Memorial
The winners were: 2006 Levon Aronian, Peter Leko and Ruslan Ponomariov, 2007 Vladimir Kramnik, 2008 Vassily Ivanchuk, 2009 Vladimir Kramnik, 2010, Levon Aronian, Sergey Karjakin and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov.
