Croatian Grandmaster (1962), judge and lawyer.
Played 14 times in the Yugoslavian Championships with the best success of a shared first-second place with Borislav Ivkov in 1963.
Best results in the international tournaments: Porec 1951, 1st; Zagreb and Vukovar 1954, 1st; Ljubljana 1955, 3rd; Split 1960, 1st; Dortmund 1961, 2nd-3rd; Berlin 1962, 2nd-3rd;Zagreb 1969, 1st .
A participant in the 1964 Olympiad and the 1961 European Team Championship where he got two team silver medals.
He is quoted as saying: “It is better to have a row of zeroes in the tournament table followed by two or three brilliant victories than a series of boring draws.”
