Hungarian Grandmaster (1976). Winner of a bronze medal at the 1976 Hungarian championship.
A member of the Hungarian national team which won the gold at the 1978 Olympiad and which took the silver at the 1977 and 1980 European Team Championships.

Won or shared first in Vrnjacka Banja 1975, Budapest 1976, Subbotica 1978, Bagneux 1978, Kiel 1979, Zalaegerszeg 1979, Esberg 1979 and Kilonia 1979. Also 5th at the 1967/68 European U20 championship.

Best ELO: 2505 in 1978.
