The Fajr Open is a traditional chess festival organized different cities of Iran since 1992. Probably the most important chess event in the country, it attracts annually nearly 250 players.
The last winners were: 2003 Levon Babujian, 2004 Tigran L. Petrosian, 2005 Gadir Guseinov, 2006 Benjamin Galstian, 2007 Ehsan Ghaem Maghami, 2008 Ehsan Ghaem Maghami, 2009, Vadim Malakhatko, 2010 Konstantin Shanava, 2011 Sergei Tiviakov.
