darga_klaus_viktor German Grandmaster (1964), chief coach of the German Chess Union (1989-1997).

He retired as a chess professional and became an computer programmer for IBM. German Junior Champion in 1951 and joint first with Panno at the World Junior in 1953.  West German Champion of 1955 and 1961.

Second at the Zonal Tournament at Enschede 1963, and 11th at the Interzonal tournament of Amsterdam (1964). Won at Madrid 1957, Bognor Regis 1960, equal first at Palma de Mallorca 1965, joint third at Winnipeg 1967 with Boris Spassky and Paul Keres.

A participant in ten Olympiads for West Germany between 1954 and 1978.
