ecu-logo The Association of European Chess Federations was created in 1985 by Prof. Kurt Jungwirth of Austria and Rolf Littorin of Sweden, the first president. The Association took a real start in 1990 when Prof. Jungwirth became its president and replaced the European Continental Association by the European Chess Union. In 1998 Boris Kutin took the leadership with the success that we know today. In 2010 Silvio Danailov became the new president.
